Alene, Melissa, and Foster Adoptee (Genesis) Monica Campbell-Langdell were featured in HFS’s 2018 Gratitude report. Melissa sent this update in the fall, and Alene dropped by the HFS booth at the LA Episcopal Diocese Annual Convention and is pictured below with Executive Director Julie Brown.
Dear Holy Family,
You asked for an update!
(Genesis) Monica completed high school and got a start on college but decided to return home this fall to recalibrate. She took some time off to work during the election to promote affordable housing via Proposition 5 with 805 United, a local organization that includes CAUSE, a local grassroots organization, and some other like-minded organizations. She was canvassing and phone banking and learning a lot. Melissa and Alene are grateful to have her home and spend more time with her as a young adult, seeing how much she has grown and matured.
Alene got her MSW and is working as a social worker by week, and supply priest by weekend. Melissa continues to serve at All Saints/ Todos los Santos in Oxnard as rector and has been named dean of her area churches.
We all continue to be grateful to Holy Family for its role in helping us become a family!
